DE RONDE VAN BELGIË 2020 – STAGE 1 – 22/05/2021 – LONG

In 2020, we start in Namur for the first time, a city known for the beautiful Tour de Namur, which inspired our opening kilometres.

We head south straight away to explore the beautiful Condroz. After a solid warm-up, we descend towards Profondeville at 30 km for the day’s first real challenge, the Triple Mur de Monty. In our opinion, it easily ranks among Belgium’s three toughest climbs!

Soon afterwards, we stop for our first refreshments. We then head into a sparsely populated stretch extending all the way to Durbuy. At 80 km, we ride a loop around the beautiful Avennes forest. Take time to enjoy this wonderful, undiscovered part of Belgium.

The second refreshment stop comes at around 100 km. Rest here, as a demanding finish around the Ourthe valley still awaits.

After 120 km, we climb Tier de Viné . This is where the leading men and women can make the difference. The route continues towards Villers, finishing at the top of a short but explosive climb. A very demanding opening stage.

We head south straight away to explore the beautiful Condroz. After a solid warm-up, we descend towards Profondeville at 15 km for the day’s first real challenge, the Triple Mur de Monty. In our opinion, it easily ranks among Belgium’s three toughest climbs!

Soon afterwards, we stop for refreshments, then ride through a sparsely populated area stretching to Durbuy. Take time to enjoy this beautiful, undiscovered part of Belgium.

The second refreshment stop comes at around 75 km. Rest here, as a demanding finish around the Ourthe valley still awaits.

After 85 km, we tackle Tier de Viné, a challenging climb in the Ourthe valley. The finish is in sight, at the top of a short but explosive climb in Villers-Ste-Gertrude. Although easier than the long route, this ride should not be underestimated!

108 km – 1,700 m climbing!

DE RONDE VAN BELGIË 2020 – STAGE 2 – 23/05/2021 – LONG

Barely recovered from yesterday’s ride, we are climbing again. We start with the Col de Rideux in Heyd. For the sake of your wellbeing, this one will not count as a segment.

We keep climbing towards one of Belgium’s highest points, Baraque Fraiture. Then it is downhill, with a refreshment stop in Wibrin and, for those who fancy it, a Chouffe at the Achouffe brewery. Do not have too many, because next come the Longue Virée and the extremely steep Rue de Sainte Roche in Houffalize. Some of you will recognise this stretch from the Chouffe Classic.

We then continue towards La Roche-en-Ardenne, where the Col du Haussire Sudawaits. A tough climb, perhaps Belgium’s toughest. At the top, our team will greet you with well-earned refreshments.

The end is in sight. Here, the racers distinguish themselves from the tourists. An undulating finale awaits, including the Côte de Beffe and a finish on Rue du Coreux.

131 km – 2,700 m climbing – 3 segments 

DE RONDE VAN BELGIË 2020 – STAGE 2 – 23/05/2021 – SHORT

Barely recovered from yesterday’s ride, we are climbing again. The Col de Rideux in Heyd comes immediately after the start.

You keep climbing towards one of Belgium’s highest points, Baraque Fraiture. Then it is downhill to the refreshment stop in Wibrin, where the short and long routes split.

We then continue towards La Roche-en-Ardenne, where the Col du Haussire Sudawaits. A tough climb, perhaps Belgium’s toughest. At the top, our team will greet you with well-earned refreshments.

The end is in sight. An undulating finale awaits, including the Côte de Beffe and a finish on Rue du Coreux. An achievement to be proud of!

97 km – 2,000 m climbing – a fantastic achievement!

DE RONDE VAN BELGIË 2020 – STAGE 3 – 24/05/2021

The final ride takes everyone directly back to Namur. Today’s distance and climbing are limited. A few lesser-known climbs feature, but no brutally steep ones.

At 43 km, a refreshment stop in Havelange offers a chance to recover from the climbing.

The route continues towards the busier city of Namur. Just before the finish, we climb the Citadel of Namur, where the Sambre and Meuse meet — one of Belgium’s most beautiful climbs. Take time at the top for a group photo overlooking the whole city. The finish has never tasted so sweet.

90 km – 1,200 m climbing – congratulations!
